Welcome to BJ Cavaliers.
We're a small
kennel with a few Cavaliers, a Griffon or two, several cats, an African gray
parrot and a German Shepherd.
In 1973 my daughter Billee Jo asked me for a
dog of her own. I have had dogs most of my life but tended toward working
breeds (in the 'old' days there was no herding group; working and herding was
one and the same).
Billee wanted a small dog that could be her constant
companion. Small enough for her to handle by herself (she was four) but large
enough to be a good playmate. After several weeks of research we "discovered"
the Cavalier It took a very long time to find one and finally we bought Muffin
from Evelyn Bleany.
Muffin was a 9 month old show bitch that had to be
spayed because of infection. I met Ev's son at University in Kingston to
collect the new girl.
Muffin wasn't terribly happy with me but a two
hour drive and a few Coffee Crisps later she was a close friend. As soon as I
got Muff settled I 'phoned Ev to tell her how happy I was, how happy Billee was
and to add my name to her waiting list for a show pup! That was the beginning
of BJ Cavaliers and why the kennel name is BJ.
